This lovely old fashioned pub in the middle of a classic British countryside. Is a great pub to visit if you are looking for a drink. I won't recommend the food it's nice but very expensive for what it is. They don't really cater for vegetarians, as they didn't have anything on the main menu. We had to ask and it was only a mushroom dish.
Good selection of beers and wines ( including locally produced ales). Food menu was good pub fayre. Staff were attentive. Friendly, local atmosphere.
Lovely country pub for a Sunday lunch with kids and a dog. A good offering of dishes. The Cod / chips and avocado / prawn salad were excellent. Friendly and flexible staff.
The Candlestick is not what it used to be. They don't even bring the food out into the garden which is right outside. You need to go back in when your buzzer goes off and collect it yourself.Wouldn't mind but for the price I would expect someone to come out with the food. Food was ok but was better in the past too.In the past the staff were only too happy to help but something has changed. Shame, it was a great local little pub.
Nice pub in an idyllic location in the middle of nowhere. Food is nice enough and the service is usually good but always friendly. This pub is very child friendly and the outside space has been equipped with a lovely climbing frame.
