Great selection of food. Very fast service. Love McMullen bitter too. Eating areas all in little alcoves.
A great place to warm up against a real fire and have some great food. You can bring the family along but I would recommend booking in advance. As this is a very popular pub & restaurant.

We booked a table as a work Christmas meal for the 8th of December.We arrived at 7:30pm didn't get our starters until 8:20pm which was just warm and very small on the portion size ( not just mine but 4 other colleagues).We then got our main meal around 9pm which was over cooked yet luke warm then as I discovered my burger was raw inside and again the portion sizes were horrifically small.We all felt really let down as we work hard together all year round.I don't usually write reviews but I just had to in this case. Some staff were obnoxious when told that we weren't happy, like we were just looking for money off our bill. We didn't hang around to have dessert unfortunately as we feared we may miss Christmas with our families
My opinion of the place is that it has gone a bit downhill.Crockery chipped, tea cup stained, food served on the wrong type of plate... I was going to book a party for Boxing Day but if the basics are not right on a quiet day, then what chance on a special day?Why didn't I complain at the time? Because all the above should have been correct first time, not after a complaint is made. The place was quiet so there is no excuse.
