Excellent service from all of the Staff there at Jo's. They always make me welcome and nothing is too much trouble and great coffee & natter too. Great place to go for children's haircuts.I came in for a haircut today and blow dry, the results are Stunning! I feel like a new woman..I can not wait till my next visit in Feb. Well done Jo's.
First i would like to say, I like my colour but I was really really upset by the experience i had. Having thick and curly hair i know i'm usually going to be a bit of an inconvenience to some hair salons and usually they have a moan, brush it off and then it's great. However from the minute i walked in and everyone stared at me with a look of "oh great", i was constantly reminded that i was an inconvenience. With phrases like "so much hair", "this is going to take a while", "all your hair" where constantly repeated in a negative tone. I was constantly bounced from one hair dresser to another because they literally didn't have time for me, and they made no effort to hide that this was an issue for them, even trying to re-quote me in order to rush me out. My cut was completely rushed and I constantly felt the need to apologise and remind them that i actually had 3 quarters of my hair shaved off in an undercut. Don't get me wrong, everyone was nice and talented but being i cant help the way i was made and being the only person of colour in the whole salon, i don't think they realised that there behaviour though they may not have even meant it actually came across quite racist. I could see that they had mainly Caucasian clientele and nobody had any experience with afro or any type of none Caucasian hair. I say racist because, had i been someone with Caucasian natured hair, which tends to not usually be as thick or curly, i would have been treated very different. At the end of it all i was told that next time i wanted an appointment, that i should remind them, i was the girl with really really thick hair (once again in a negative tone), as if to say, I was the girl that would be an inconvenience so they should prepare for me. No thank you. I would much rather spend my money where everyone is made to feel welcome, no matter where they're from or how they were made.
I loved my hair cut when I went last! Staff are so friendly as well, and price is perfect. I can't wait to be back!
Had to find a new hairdresser so tried Jo's as it's a local salon. Christina cut my hair & I'm absolutely thrilled with it! A friendly experience from the cup of tea to really nice staff but most importantly a fabulous haircut . Now found my new hairdresser
